In this blog post, we will be answering common questions we receive!

When will it start? What is the schedule for different teams? What days are the meetings happening?

Onboarding to our team occurs all year round and you will be able to start working with your directors! In terms of the schedule for different teams, there is no established schedule. Instead, directors send out when2meets to gauge everyone’s availability, and they schedule a department meeting. The frequency of these meetings depends on the specific department, but most departments host 1-2 meetings a month.

What are the responsibilities of each group selected? What exactly would I be doing?

As an Executive Board member, you will be working with your selected department to promote environmental education. Although our main focus is our environmental education programs in the Spring/Summer, we also plan smaller events throughout the year.

The graphic design team will be creating graphics for our Instagram account (@climatehealthei), the content development team will be creating lesson plans for our afterschool programs, the writing and newsletter team will be creating articles to raise awareness about environmental issues, the public relations and outreach team will be reaching out and maintaining communication with our partner schools, and our fundraising team will be planning fundraiser events.

Are meetings in person or virtual?

As of now, all of our meetings are virtual to prevent the need for transportation. Towards the end of the school year, however, we will start our in-person environmental education programs and we can coordinate with you to start a program at your local elementary schools. Unfortunately, we do not provide transportation for these in-person events, but if transportation is a concern, there are other ways to get involved virtually!
